Cold Traps
Cold traps are used together with vacuum pumps to collect condensate products that arise from humidity or solvent evaporation. Cold traps are used with all types of vacuum pumps from rotary vane pumps to high vacuum turbomollecular pumps. Coolants are either liquid nitrogen or dry ice with acetone. Cold traps are normally contained in Dewar flasks to ensure that the coolant is insulated and remains active for prolonged periods. KGW manufactures a range of cold raps and accessories and cold trap systems mounted on trolleys with connections for vacuum pumps.
	Cold Traps with Spherical Glass Joints two sizes are available with 150mL and 250mL condensate capacity. The cold trap finger is fitted with standard S29 spherical glass joints. Supplied with blue coated cylindrical dewar flask and fitting lid. Version is available with top mounted valve for condensate removal.
	Cold traps with spherical joint and O ring two sizes are available with 150mL and 250mL condensate capacity. The cold trap finger is fitted with S29 spherical glass joints and a O ring for improved sealing. Supplied with blue coated cylindrical dewar flask and fitting lid. Picture shows version with valve for top condensate removal.
	Cold Traps with glass screw thread GL 18 and PTFE Olive two sizes are available with 150mL and 250mL condensate capacity. The cold trap finger has GL 18 glass screw thread on the connections. The cold trap is supplied with PTFE olives and screw caps. Supplied with blue coated cylindrical dewar flask and fitting lid. Version is available with top mounted valve for condensate removal.

	Cold Trap with cone and socket joints and drain valve large size cold trap with condensate capacity of 250ml and coolant capacity of 1100 mL. The cold trap has an integrated dewar flask and viewing strips. The unit is fitted with a condensate outlet valve at the bottom and is enclosed in an aluminum cover. Supplied with insulating lid.

	Cold Fingers Simple cold traps, or cold finger condensers, are used in standard applications in conjunction with vacuum pumps and the condensation is forced out of the humidity or solvents used in the chemical applications. The cold trap is used to protect the vacuum pump in this case and the speciality of this type of construction is that the user does not need to use a stand to hold the cold trap. The cold trap has a rim, which is hung inside the Dewar-flask’s support ring. The cold trap can be changed very quickly without any problems arising. Various sizes and versions are available
